Abstract Controlling and simulating the sound radiating from complex structures is of importance in many engineering applications. We calculate radiated acoustic power plates with diffuse bending vibrations. characterise field by a two-point correlation function (CF) normal velocities. Given relation between field–field CFs ray-dynamical phase space densities, approach taken here offers basis for coupling structure borne ray-tracing techniques radiation. At same time, it caters stochastic, noisy driving such systems. The results radiation efficiency plate are presented an asymptotic form analogous to Weyl formula density states. Leading contributions interior its boundary derived, corner corrections also being given particular conditions right-angled corners. A notable feature this analysis that bulk contribution vanishes below critical frequency, estimate then leads contribution. This shown agree well more traditional calculation based on modal special case rectangular plate.
